Terms

Terms of use

By using StillFathering, you agree to these terms. They're written to be read, not skimmed past. If something is unclear, email notalone@stillfathering.com.

Not legal, medical or professional advice

StillFathering shares fathers' experiences, general education and organizing tools. Nothing here is legal advice, and using the site doesn't create an attorney-client or any other professional relationship. Talk with a licensed family law attorney in your state before filing anything, changing a court-ordered schedule, or relying on a record in court. Mentors and story writers are fathers sharing what they lived through, not counselors or lawyers.

The free tools

  • The calculators, the visit and incident log, and the court report are provided as they are, without any guarantee that they're accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose.
  • Their results are estimates based on what you enter. Check every number before you rely on it.
  • Your records stay in your browser and are your responsibility. We can't see, recover or restore them, so export them regularly.
  • Whether a court accepts any record depends on your court and your state.

Sharing your story

  • You keep ownership of your story.
  • By submitting it, you give StillFathering permission to edit it for privacy, length and clarity, and to publish, display and remove it on this site, at no cost to either of us.
  • You confirm it's your own experience, that you're 18 or older, and that you've left out names and details that identify other people, as described in the sharing rules.
  • We may decline any story, and you can ask us to remove a published story at any time.

Mentorship

Mentorship introductions are made in good faith between adults who volunteer. We don't run background checks unless we say so, and we aren't responsible for what happens in conversations between mentors and the people they support. Use your own judgment, share only what you're comfortable sharing, and tell us if anyone breaks the mentorship code of conduct.

Using the site respectfully

Don't use StillFathering to harass, threaten or expose anyone, to post another person's private information, to submit false stories, or to interfere with the site. We may remove content or block access to protect the people who use it.

Limits of our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, StillFathering and its founder aren't liable for losses that come from using the site, its tools, stories or mentorship, or from relying on anything you find here. Some states don't allow certain limits, so parts of this may not apply to you.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of South Carolina.
